REAL PEOPLE ARE BEING TRANSFORMED
“When I first came here, I attended a service where they prayed for anyone struggling with their father. That prayer changed everything. My relationship with my dad has been restored to the best it’s ever been. It’s given me a new belief that healing—real healing—is possible.”- Jason LaFond
“Since returning to The Barn, I’ve experienced restoration in relationships I thought were beyond repair. My mental health has improved, my outlook has shifted, and my hope for the future— for myself and for my children—has been renewed.”- Tiffany LaFond
“Street Reach has taught me to truly care for people—no matter their situation. It’s not just about feeding someone; it’s about listening to them. Sometimes, a conversation means as much as a hot meal. I’ve learned that many people on the streets have bigger hearts than those who have everything. This has humbled me and changed the way I see the world.”- Von Boyd
the problem we see every week
In our own backyard—Benton Harbor and surrounding communities—too many individuals face homelessness, addiction, and trauma. Families are fractured. Survivors of human trafficking have nowhere to turn for long-term healing. These aren’t distant issues. They are local, urgent, and growing.
what we’re doing about it
Sanctuary at The Barn is a 330-acre campus that has become a refuge and recovery center for those who have nowhere else to go. Through housing, mentorship, counseling, life skills training, and therapeutic programs, we are restoring lives and reuniting families
street reach: a pathway to restoration
Phase 1: Meals & Mentorship
We serve 25–40 hot meals every week to unhoused individuals in Benton Harbor. What starts with a meal often grows into trust and personal mentoring relationships. Currently, 8–10 people are being walked with intentionally through recovery, stability, and personal growth.
Phase 2: Transitional Housing
For those who are ready, we provide on-site transitional housing. Currently, three individuals live on our campus. They are clean, sober, and actively engaged in learning life skills, financial literacy, and healthy relational habits. real lives. real change
Phase 3: Family Reunification
Our next phase (in development) helps those who have made sustained progress reconnect with family, regain custody of children, and rebuild a support system for long-term reintegration.
Phase 4: Recovery for Trafficking Survivors
Plans are underway for a barndominium residence designed specifically for women rescued from human trafficking. This will be a long-term healing home offering therapy, community, and a safe space to rebuild their lives with dignity
